The other day the kids were going through some of those old scrapbooks and asked where the rest were. I thought to myself... "Yeah Danielle where are they?" I want to be able to capture those memories and be able to have them documented for my littles to see years later. A lot is journaled here on the blog, but there is something about getting those pictures off of the computer and actually printed for all to see. So now I have a new goal for the new year. I really want to work on a few pages a month... or more... depending on time. I would love to have a book or two printed by the end of the year, so that our family pictures are actually printed for my kids to enjoy.
When we look at pictures, we are able to share stories and memories. I love when we talk about these memories. We laugh, we joke, and have a really good time. I am really going to try this year to be able to create some of those pages, so we have more story starters for the kids to enjoy. Anyone else into digital scrapbooking and want to join me? I am using Picmonkey to create my pages, but am curious what all of you use and what your favorite goodies are for scrapbooking?
Let me know friends. I am excited for this new creative adventure and more opportunities to document this cute little family I have been blessed with.
Oh and our Christmas tradition of making gingerbread houses is still going strong. This is our 13th year doing it. We started when Hubby and I were dating and try to have our kiddos now do it every year. This year we got together with friends and made some pretty stellar houses. Love this time of year and sweet family traditions!
XO Danielle
I'm a Project Life girl - pocket scrapbooking using printed photos and journalling cards. But they do digital too, and an awesome app which I think you will love! I'm on the Creative Team for The Nerd Nest's "Pocket Your Year" course which is running all year - please come and join us Danielle! Love that you are getting back into memory keeping for your precious family - however you choose to do it, I hope you have fun and that your family love the results. xx
ReplyDeleteI looked up project life. I'm waiting for the app for Android. It looks so fun!
DeleteI know ShutterFly can be costly, but if you no longer have your supplies, you can upload them to this site and create a scrapbook that will be printed and mailed to you.
ReplyDeletegreat idea and combine that with a coupon you might be able to save.
DeleteI used to scrapbook every year. I would have a nice scrapbook for each year. Now I have a toddler and another little one on the way, and time and the cost of it just doesn't make sense anymore. I know quite a few people who do a Shutterfly book once a year. If you watch for codes, you can get them at a pretty reasonable price. One thing that I am hoping to do with some things from vacations past is in the below link... I am wanting to do the shadow boxes of places we have gone (the example in this link is for Oahu, Hawaii; Paris, France; Venice, Italy; and London, England). You can get shadow boxes like these at places like Hobby Lobby and Michaels (with a 40% off coupon it makes for a good price). BTW, congrats on your little one to be!

I love all those ideas. How creative. The frames saying where you went with the tickets and stuff are my favorite.
DeleteI was just thinking about this myself! I've bot all the stuff - as a matter of fact I've had to downsize what I have. but anyways - I've decided that every sunday night (sundays are our down lazy days after church)i'm going to scrapbook whatever happened that week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect way to enjoy a Sunday evening :)
DeleteI used to do the physical scrapbooks and I have a lot of supplies left, but I haven't made one in a long time. One of my goals this year is to get back into scrapbook making - digital or physical. You can find great Shutterfly codes so the books are pretty reasonable. I have a $20 off any order code right now so I need to get busy.
ReplyDeletethat's a great coupon. Yes definitely use it :)
DeleteHi Danielle. I've been a long time scrapbooker but I have tried both Shutterfly and Picaboo. I actually used Picaboo for my wedding album because I was too indecisive about prepping and staging for how I wanted to make it. LOL
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm very behind in scrapbooking but have decided to combine some events and get caught up by making scrapbook "yearbooks" where I scrapbook one whole year or a few years in one album by keeping it simple and realizing I have to keep it twelve layouts.
