Savory Egg Bread...

Good morning lovelies! Today I wanted to hop on here and share a quick bread machine recipe I have been LOVING lately. It is super yummy and everyone in my house is loving it. I made my dough in the bread machine and baked it in the oven. I like the shape better with bread baked in an oven loaf pan. You can follow this recipe though and put it on your basic bread cycle and cook it in the bread machine. I've included instructions for both methods:) Either way you cook it, you are sure to love it!

Savory Egg Bread

1/3 cup water
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1 egg yolk
2 tbl butter
1 tbl sugar
1 tsp salt
3 cups white flour
2 1/4 tsp yeast

Place ingredients in your bread machine, according to your manufacturer's instructions. Select white crust or basic bread if you are baking it in the bread machine. When program has finished, remove bread from pan and brush with cold butter. Allow to cool for an hour on a wire rack.

If you plan on baking it in the oven, choose dough cycle. When program has finished, punch down dough and place in a greased loaf pan. Allow to rise for about 30 minutes or until it is just above the edge of the loaf pan. Bake for 30 minutes at 350'. After baking, brush with cold butter. Remove from pan and allow to cool on a wire rack for about an hour.

If you need some tips on using your bread machine at home, check out my video below :)

Enjoy!!

  1. Could this be made with whole egg powder instead of fresh eggs?

    1. I don't see why not:) I would just follow the instructions on replacing it for regular eggs. There should be something on the packaging for your powder eggs.

    1. Oh absolutely! Place the dough into the pans and place in the fridge. Allow to rise and come to room temperature before baking.
