Just like I loved it as a kid...my red heads do too! A few months ago I saw Jammerill making some freezer PB&J's. I thought it was such a brilliant idea, so I gave it a try. It was so dang awesome lovelies! For the whole month of August, I had quick lunches I could grab if we were going on a field trip or outing. I had something quick to grab for my kiddos if we were going to be running errands around meal time. They thaw quickly and take up little space in my freezer. All the ones that I made in the video below, lasted us the whole month.
I decided to make more for the month of September. My kids are still loving them and I am loving the mama grace they give me. I also made some bean and cheese burritos, breakfast burritos, and more freezer goodies. I have been on a freezer kick lately and I can't wait to share everything I've been making. I'll share all the fun things I've been making this week, so be sure to come back and check it out. You can also see on instagram some of the fun stuff I've been stocking our freezer with. I feel well stocked for a new month :)

This is such a great idea. Plus I bet it tastes a ton better than those gross Uncrustable sandwiches that my kids always ask for!
ReplyDeleteI tried these after watching your video and my kids love them. I packed them in dinosaur ziploc bags from the Dollar Spot at Target and trimmed off some crust using a gingerbread cookie cutter. Those little FUN elements make these great for early morning drives to school. I also do breakfast burritos. I really don't enjoy making them, but they are so worth it. I do ground breakfast sausage, egg, black beans, sauteed spinach, and a couple of tater tots in a tortilla wrap. They are so delish and filling in the morning! Keep sharing your freezer meals. They are such great time savers!
ReplyDeleteI turned 2 loaves of bread into freezer pb&j's yesterday after your post. We all love pb&j and I feel like I am always making them. I'm sure this will help out tons! Can't wait to try them! Thank you! I love to make up quick breads and muffins for breakfasts to keep in the freezer. I made some pumpkin zucchini bread yesterday that is fabulous! My kids love it and I feel better giving them a slice of a homemade somewhat healthy bread and some scrambled eggs for breakfast than a bowl of cereal.
