How to Eat a Plant Based Diet and Make It Work For You...

You guys have been asking me a lot about what I'm eating lately to live healthy and loose weight. I made a video on it today, which I hope will be able to give you a bigger glimpse into what my family is eating now and how we are making this plant based diet/healthy eating work for us. Enjoy!

  1. Heck yeah, girl! Happy to hear that you are taking steps toward a plant based lifestyle. Have you tried Beyond Meat vegan products? They have awesome coupons available as well.

  2. Thanks for sharing! I watched the documentary also and tried to drastically change my families eating habits. It's hard at times and we cheat sometimes. We really like quinoa and surprisingly tofu! I stir-fry it up with veggies and kale or spinach and my kids eat it up! Another thing is sweet potatoes, I cook them a lot!

  3. Hi Danielle!!

Have you looked into recipes for what's called clean eating?? It really helped me when I was first starting out in my weight-loss journey. I also know that if you add strength training into your exercise regimen it will also help because muscle burns fat. Just some food for thought! Glad your doing so well!! Keep up the good work! My before and afters or current pictures are on my blog KeepcalmandloveBrooke.blogspot.com or on my Facebook profile. Thanks for being an example to others!

  4. Very neat! I have watched that documentary and it was very good! I would love to hear a basic day of meals. Breakfast, lunch, and supper.

  5. What a great video! I have been vegetarian for 22 years and vegan for the last 11 years. I have endometriosis and diverticulosis (which effects my intestines). I make protein shakes everyday that taste so good and give me tons of energy. I use Vega protein powder (the chocolate one) it's vegan, gluten and soy free and it doesn't have any sugar in it. I'm allergic to soy so I really love this protein powder. And it actually tastes way better than any protein powder I've ever had. I put one scoop in a blender with one cup unsweetened almond milk, one-two cups ice, one banana, 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp pure vanilla extract. It's seriously so good. I also try to eat quinoa every day. I highly recommend it. It's the only thing that isn't an animal product that is a complete protein (meaning it has all of the essential amino acids). I learned that in a nutrition class :) I would also recommend The Beauty Detox Diet by Kimberly Syder. It's a great book about nutrition and eating a vegan diet. There are also a lot of good recipes in it including some really good green smoothie recipes. You can find her on Facebook and I believe she has a blog as well. I hope some of this information was helpful and I wish you all of the luck on your journey. If you try any of this stuff or read that book let me know what you think. I also have a million quinoa recipes if you don't know what to do with it. You can always use it in your recipes in place or rice. It's seriously so good. :)

  6. Did you feel like you went through any withdrawal symptoms when coming off of sugar and carbs? I know I tried the paleo diet and I went through some symptoms of tiredness and crankiness;)
