September 16th was Mexican Independence Day. Because of this my sisterinlaw Holly and I decided we should have a little feista for the family to help the children celebrate. We read a little bit about Mexico during the week and made a craft. We also fried tortillas and ate them with yummy salsa, sour cream, and avocados. We were suppose to make a pinata, but that fell through. We ended up buying one and filling it.
It turned out to be a fun week of learning a little bit more about another country. I kept it short and simple, since Bubba and Miss Priss are still young. We pointed to Mexico on the map to help them understand how far away it was from the USA. Then on Sunday night we ended our week of Mexico with a Fiesta Potluck over at Holly's house. Everyone brought a Mexican food dish to share and we just had fun stuffing ourselves with delicious food. The kids got to do a pinata and then they spent the rest of the time eating and playing outside. I am so thankful for our family. Everyone is so supportive of one another. We will do anything for one another and I love that about our family. I love that my children are growing up around people who love them and just want to spend time with them. Thank you to everyone who came to the Fiesta. It was such a blast! And thank you Holly and Justin for hosting it. You are the best brother and sis/bestie ever! Now enough of my ranting on to the pictures. Enjoy!

We read:
We made a basket weaving pattern out of paper
We then did Fried Tortillas. I made them like I did HERE.
Then we had a FIESTA!
Libby and Carter gave it two thumbs up
Nicole made Flan (I think that is how you spell it?) and
Fried Tortillas with cinnamon and sugar on them.
This was a first for me and I loved it! What a yummy Mexican dessert
We had a FHE lesson on loving one another and how we should
appreciate one another's cultures
Now onto the Pinata...
Then of course lots of cousin playtime
Thank you for letting me share all that we do. Happy Tuesday!
That was super fun! Thanks for taking lots of pictures since our camera is lame and still broken! Love ya!
