I'm a Soccer Mom...

My freshmen year of college I had a study group in a US History class. I remember one study session, we all went around and said what we thought each of us looked like....like what professions we looked like we'd end up in. There were teachers, police men, singers, etc. I was so ready to see what my friends would think of for me and my upcoming future.

Their answers were not at all what I thought they would be, but I loved them nonetheless.

They said soccer mom.

This past week, as Libby and I sat on a blanket at one of Keagan's soccer practices, that memory came to mind and I had to give a little chuckle.

I'm now a soccer mom, loading my kids into the car and heading out for an evening under the bright lights of the soccer field.

I love this season of life I am in right now. My kids are finding new interests and pursuing them. It is so cool to see them grow and to expand their horizons. They are fearless...willing to try out any new thing.

So to my US History friends, you were right. I did end up being a soccer mom and I am loving every single minute :)

A Little B-Ball...

Last week a few homeschooling moms and I got together to teach our kids a little bit about basketball. Thankfully one of us knew a bit more than the others, so these children weren't learning whatever I found on Google :) The kids did some drills, learned to dribble, and had some fun outdoors. We ended with a fun game.

Thankfully we have a park here in Henderson that has a basketball court that is kid size, which means a shorter court and shorter baskets. I'm not sure who had more fun...us moms or the kids. Once we were wrapping everything up, My friend Candace and I were convinced to do a two on two game with my son Keagan and his friend Taz. Oh boy was that fun...and exhausting....really exhausting haha! We definitely took a few "old women" breaks, as Candace and I like to call them, but we had a lot of fun and got some exercise at the same time.

I can't wait to get back out there with my kiddos and play some more.

I love homeschooling my kiddos. I love that we get to try new things all the time. What a fun afternoon we spent together, as we learned a new game and got some exercise. I can't wait for the next sport they decide to learn. I'm sure this mama will get another great workout :)

How do you guys incorporate athletics into your homeschool day?
