Fashion with Nikki: Fashion for the Day of Love

Not going to lie Valentine's Day is not a big deal to me. My ultimate Valentines date would be in my jammers cuddled up with a blanket and my hubby watching a movie. BUT not everyone thinks the same as I do, so I thought I'd do 4 different outfits from casual to fancy ready for any type of Valentine date!

The Casual Look
 / Cardigan-F21 Similar  /  Pants-Kohls similar  / Tanktop-Urbanwear similar / Shoes-Dolce Vita similar / Headband-F21
Hearts and red pants are perfect for a nice casual outing to the movies or for an all day look before changing into the stunning night outfit.

The Classic Look
/ Pants-H&M similar / Blouse-Marshalls similar / Boots-Naughty Monkey similar/
All black to be classy and sexy, and the pant option is way warmer than wearing a skirt or dress in the snowy weather as we have here in Utah. The gold polka dots and the tuxedo pants adds the glamor to the pair of pants and blouse for the special night.

 The Dressy Look
 / Skirt-H&M similar/ Peplum top-F21 similar / Tights-Nordstrom Rack similar / Heels-Forever Young Shoes similar/
You can't go wrong with colored tights, a peplum top, and classic skirt for a nice dinner downtown. You can spiff up the outfit with fun colored tights, and the colors pink, red, or purple are perfect for the night.

 The Fancy Look
/ Skirt-Bohme similar/ Blouse, which is actually a dress-DVF via Nordstrom Rack kinda similar /
 / Heels-Jessica Simpson similar /

This outfit shouts "I'm ready for the 5 star restaurant Mister Right reserved 2 months ago" The texture screams "I'm sexy" enough said ;)

Outerwear
/ Coat-Tulle similar /

February in Utah means it's still snowing, so you always need a coat to go along with any outfit and since it's Valentines Day red is the perfect color!

Well there you have it, my thoughts from causal to fancy for the Valentines Day! Thanks for reading and come visit me here anytime!

Lip to the Stick: Tips for Picking Your Best Fall Shade

Wow can you believe it's already November, that means the holidays are literally right around the corner! For this post I've been asked to do a little beauty tip. When it comes to beauty, I usually stick to my little routine but then I thought of the holidays and realized my brain went right to LIPSTICK!

Here are my lipstick personal line up, although they don't get out much.

Never Ending Nude
--------------------------
Hooked on Pink
 --------------------------
Berry Desirable that plump your lips
--------------------------
 Crushed Cranberry
 --------------------------
Enduring Ruby
--------------------------
Well those are the lovely ladies and they are all by Maybelline. The Berry Desirable and the Crushed Cranberry are VERY similar except I really wanted to try the plumping effect and in my personal opinion it burns lol Anyway back to holidays and lipstick, lipstick can make any outfit holiday ready especially the bright reds. If you've never wore lipstick here are some standard rules

*its all based on your skin tone, so if you have

Fair Skin-stick to the pale pinks
Medium to Olive Skin-shades of apricot and beige's
Dark Skin-mauves and sheer reds

all skin tones can wear the berry shades

*Never have bold lips and bold eyes at the same time.

Well that's the beauty tip for the month, make sure to come check me out over here! Hope you guys all have a great Thanksgiving and I'll see you in December!

Frugal Fashion: 3 Ways to Wear Plaid

Hey B and D buddies! I'm back for a monthly fashion tip. First off I'd like to say thank you for the comments and the emails I've received from the last post I did here, I love actually talking to readers. It makes a big difference to the blogger, plus it gives me an idea of what I should post for the next time. With that said, this post is more geared to the lovely moms with a budget and after each outfit picture I have included options that are all under $40.

On with the post, Plaid in 3 different ways. Why did I choose plaid? Plaid is great for fall and I'm all about fall. So here it is.

| Skirt-H&M | Shirt-Kohls | Belt-F21 | Socks-Target | Shoes-Forever Young Shoes | Watch-Walmart | Bracelet-Target |

This my friends is my 'plaid to work' outfit! It is in my mind fun yet a classic outfit and it makes me wish I worked in an office. Nah, just kidding I'll stick with nursing haha

These are some affordable options for this outfit.
| Skirt | Shirt | Belt | Socks | Shoes 1 & 2 | Watch

| Leggings-Walmart | Shirt-Kohls | Cardi-Target | Socks-Target | Boots-Forever Young Shoes |

Lazy day plaid, and it's my favorite! I love leggings, they are the best thing to lounge around the house, then add the comfy plaid shirt and cozy cardigan and to me that's heaven!

| Pants-Target | Shirt-Kohls | Sweater-Eddie Bauer | Shoes-Famous Footwear | Watch-Walmart | Pin-gift |

And last but not least the everyday plaid. I love that this outfit could be worn anywhere, the movies, shopping, and for those fun dates with the hubby.
| Pants | Shirt | Sweater | Shoes | Watch | Pin |

There you have it. Thanks so much for joining me here

Frugal Fashion: Fall Fashion Must Haves

Hey all you B and D folks,
I'm Nikki from the blog Fashions on the Fly. I am so excited to be a monthly contributor to Danielle's amazing blog. I was so tickled when she asked me to join in the fun here!

Quick introduction word/sentence cloud
Married to the Hubs | Almost 7 Years of marriage | Nurse | ICU | Love Photography | Love Fashion | | Dog-Boomer | Love Boating | Utah my whole life | Adventurous |

Well that will do for now, you will get to know me as the months go on.

My job on B and D is to share something of fashion or beauty...and most of my words will be fashion, but don't worry I'll throw a little bit of beauty in here every once in a while. If there is something you'd like to see please email me {Nikki1156@gmail.com} or Danielle. With that done...ON with the show!!

Since it's now the beginning of September, I thought I'd share my Fall Must Haves. I know you all probably think that I'm crazy for jumping to fall, but here in Utah the leaves are starting to change and kids are heading back to school...those things speak fall to me!

Here are my must haves.

| Pants-F21 | Thermal- Free People | Sweater-Khols | Boots-Famous Footwear | Necklace-F21 |
| Purse-Coach |

Sweater-You can't start fall without a nice warm cozy sweater. I love just snuggling up on the couch in a sweater, blanket, and some hot chocolate!
Boots-This is my main go-to for fall. Brown boots, black boots, gray boots, heels, flats, wedges...I want all of them!
Thermals-Since I'm always freezing, I wear thermals at least once a week. My favorite ones are those that Free People makes. They are thick and have fun little details.

| Pants-F21 | Sweater-F21 | Jacket-I think UrbanWear | Socks-Free People | Boots-Jeffrey Campbell |
 | Necklace-F21 |

Socks-Now not just any socks, but long socks you can wear sticking out of your boots. These make for a fun addition to any outfit. I really like my gray socks, I feel they go with everything.

Skinny pants-Skinny pants aren't just for fall, but for every season. I just feel they are
necessary in order to tuck them in your boots.

Military Style Jacket-The military style is huge for this fall and I love it. I went to an Army/Navy store and tried to buy some camo pants...but none of them fit me :( I'm currently looking for a army green vest so if you see one let me know!

| Skirt-Gap | Shirt-Downeast | Jacket-UrbanWear | Tights-UO | Shoes-Dolce Vita | Beanie-gift |

Colored Tights-I LOVE LOVE colored tights! They make any skirt or Sunday outfit come to life! I especially love these ones from Urban Outfitters because they are thick which helps out with the snow we get here.

Leather Jacket-These are a must for Fall, but then again from what I'm seeing trending for this Fall is anything leather is in.

Beanie-Yep Fall/Winter head wear!

There you go, my Fall Must Haves! I hope you liked my list and I'm always looking for suggestions for the next post, email me! Don't forget to come visit me over at Fashions on the Fly.
