Morning friends! Today I am sharing one of our grocery hauls for the month of May. I planned our grocery trips over two days. Doing it all in one day was going to be a bit taxing on this mama, so I split our trips up. We went to Wal-mart on the first day and then a few days later we finished our shopping at Costco.
Today I am sharing that first haul (Wal-mart), along with our monthly menu plan and the progress we made on our freezer last month. I am happy to say we have made quite a dent in that full freezer. I was a bit concerned at first...wondering if realistically we would be able to get through all that food, but we are well on our way. I am breathing a sigh of relief, knowing that we will use up all the items in our freezer. My goal is to have it cleaned to and unplugged by July 1. So far so good friends!
Enjoy the video and let me know what's going on in your neck of the woods :)
XO Danielle
I'm not sure how you get the sub titles on your video but I think they misplace understood alot of what you said. Even including a cuss word which is totally not you at all just an FYI love your blog.
ReplyDeleteI shop at Walmart often, for my own home and for our Drive Inn Restaurant. I'd encourage you to try the Great Value brand of Oreos. I think they are called Twist and Shout or something like that. They're right beside the regular Oreos and are about $1.00 cheaper. I gave my employees some of each and they actually preferred the GV brand. We use them in malts and shakes. Another idea I've discovered is to write (email) the company of the brands you like, or do NOT like. They have responded to me with coupons, the last time I got 2 for a beef and broccoli frozen dinner FREE! They want to hear what we think! Maybe you already do that and I've missed it. I enjoy your videos!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing- it's so interesting to see how products and prices vary in other countries!
ReplyDeleteWhat else to do you serve with the nachos? Chips, cheese...?? I've never thought to do it as a meal, but I'm sure my family would love it if I did!
ReplyDeleteBeans, rice, cut up veggies. I try to get creative :)
DeleteMy dear Danielle, i saw your Ad in Good Housekeeping. I am very frugal and am happy to see when someone is also. But how can any of that be frugal? I can't sit back and let you kill yourself and others...especially a child who will be going through chemo. Not to mention your unborn child. All that you say is "your haul'' is soooo unhealthy -- I was going to share your page but EVERYTHING is so unhealthy --- i can't see one thing that is healthy in that list. I don't mean to sound mean...i am truly concerned. Where is the fruit and vegetables? Do you consider the unhealthy ingredients like gluten, sugars,Hot Dogs... please you may not like what i say, and i'm sorry if i'm coming across strong but if only this makes you stop to think of one thing to stop and look up to save yourself from future health issues then please know it's only because i care. Eating healthy does Not cost more than reducing all the sugar junk. Your taste buds will notice how much things are sweet when you cut back. Even yogurts have to much sugar. And please be careful on replacing sugar with aspartame, or dextrose, or splenda. There are many more healthy alternatives available now. You may not feel the results of eating this now as you're young, but it will catch up with you. Honestly this is truly out of concern, I am in my 50's and even thou I never ate a lot of junk, soda's when i was young I did have hot dogs, chips on the menu as well as sweets around without thinking. Now paying for these with fibromyalgia, and other health problems i'd never wish on anyone. With loving concern
ReplyDeleteI have read every word and I get your concern. That haul is only a part of our shopping for the month. We got the rest of our stuff, including our produce,at Costco this past month...which is in another video. Try out more of my videos and posts and then you'll get a better idea. Thanks for visiting and have a great day 😃
DeleteHi Danielle! If you don't mind sharing, what part of AZ are you moving to? :)
