It's Monday friends, which means I have a new video up on my channel for you all. Today we are chatting about living within your means. I recently gave a budgeting class on this very topic, so I thought I'd create a video where you and I could chat on this very same topic as well.
Living within your means has been such a game changer for myself and my family. It has provided us with a strong financial foundation and has allowed us to be comfortable in our finances. Because we live below our means, we are not stressed about whether we will have enough money to pay all the bills and any extras that pop up. We are able to have money left after each pay period, have money for our emergency funds and savings, and are able to provide a little extra for our family as well.
Check out the video and let me know what tips and tricks you guys have for living within your means and stretching that budget. I also glean so much from you friends.
Have a beautiful start to your week!
XO Danielle
This came at a good time for me. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou ask for other sites or blogs. Brandys blog listed next is fantastic she is also LDS. I also belong to a blog called Working Pantry. We all support each other and try to share and focus on saving money and building up a pantry to be more self sufficient. I do canning and canned 6 pints of carrots today. Bought my carrots at Aldi's 4 lbs. ended up costing me 45 cents a jar. Growing my own would bring the cost down but I work full time so don't have a lot of time for gardening though will be growing lots of tomatoes and peppers this year in containers and canning those. Loved the video. I've been trying to be frugal for years but have hit so many snags over the years with my husband being in and out of the hospital it has really set us back but we're still trying. Anyways here is Brandy's link: http://theprudenthomemaker.com/
ReplyDeleteI know this one is UK but Jane and her hubby dug themselves out of a hole using much the same ideas as you - www.frugalqueen.co.uk. She is not LDS. One of the best things for us was following Pres Hinckley's advice to get out of debt and stay out of debt. Not easy but possible. Keep blogging as you are helping others. It surprises me how many bloggers are LDS when you think of how small our numbers are compared to the world population if bloggers.
ReplyDeleteThat's because Latter Day Saints think they have all the answers. And anyone who gives 10% of their wages to a male dominated bureaucracy (cough, religion) needs to have their head examined.
DeleteAnyone who hands 10% of their family's income over to a make dominated heirarchy needs to have their head examined. Mormons blog because they think they know it all.
DeleteSamantha, in case your Mom never told you; it's not polite to attack someone's religion. Shaking my head at you..
ReplyDeleteDanielle, keep doing what you do. I personally find inspiration from your posts.
Just wanted to say that is a good video. I don't think it's nice to judge someone on their beliefs & donations. I to believe in the bible very much. I think it's admirable that you home school your children. I also did this with my son. I'd be so afraid to have a child in public schools these days. This year after working on our budget has shown results in having reconstruction of some debt, and other's being paid off. Were working toward easier and less stress as we get older in taking care of necessities. I suppose tho if i had children it would be hard not to spoil them :) I admire being a young mother , you are ahead of many in trying your best. This world is difficult as it is to make ends meet. Practice makes perfect :)
