Trucking Along...

The past few weeks have been full of organizing, packing, and working on little projects here and there. I'm still keeping to my "Friday Dejunk Day". That's the day of the week I designate as donate day. I bring everything from our donate pile to our local thrift store. I've been giving the kids a challenge in their room each week and they've really been making their way through all their toys, only keeping their absolute favorites. I can't believe how much we've accumulated over the years. It feels so good to let go of stuff and focus on the future.

I've also been really trucking along with my scrapbook project. Before I became a digital scrapbooker, I did the old school paper and glue version. My sisinlaw and I loved having scrapbook nights. It was always so much fun. I now have all my paper 12x12 albums organized. I grabbed extra albums off Amazon to accommodate my pile of pages.

As I've looked back at my past pages, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Gratitude that I took the time to capture these memories. I've saved past birthday and holiday cards, I have the kids Christmas wish lists from 2009. Oh those red heads melt my heart. I have a note from my brother. Oh man I am sure glad I saved that now. I also captured things I had forgotten all about. That's what I love about scrapbooking. It's creating a picture journal to enjoy for years to come.

I've also been continuing to add to my digital scrapbook albums. I'm still ordering my 8x10 prints from Costco. I'm up to 2006. Only 10 years to go till I'm current. Ha-ha! That's a lot of pages, but also a lot of fun memories.

How have you guys been doing?

XO Danielle

  1. Oh my gosh! I love this post! I had to "give up" scrapbooking while I worked on my dissertation. I'm trying to get myself motivated to finish my projects and your post has me thinking now. My daughter also has a "Mr. Bear" (she's 4). Yesterday I brought him to school and had his picture taken with our school resource officer, some of my students, and he had professional pictures done since it was picture day at school. I often think I need to make "perfect" pages but in reality I just need to document our lives. Thanks for the reminder Danielle! :-)

  2. Great scrapbook pages! I love this. We are also trying to purge and organize for an upcoming move, but we have a couple of years to get ready. Hope things continue to go well for you and your sweet family.
