Morning lovelies!! I am now officially 20 weeks pregnant, which means I am halfway there friends! I can't believe how quick the time is going by. With 20 weeks of pregnancy under my growing belt, it was time to purchase a few items to expand my wardrobe. I had been checking out my local thrift stores, but was not having much luck. Things were getting a bit too snug, so I decided it was time to order a few things to keep this growing belly covered.
I always have a hard time shopping for maternity clothes. I am plus size, so I find it is harder to find a good selection of cute maternity clothes. I also hate to spend a lot on clothing...whether I am pregnant or not. I chose items that could last me throughout my pregnancy and after, while I am still sporting that mama belly after delivery :)
The first place I ordered from was Wal-Mart. I ordered the skirts below. I got them each for under $13. I found black, gray, and red online. I then snagged the same style skirt in a black patterned, a pink patterned (pictured below), navy, and black and white stripes in store. These are not maternity. I ordered a size up. I will be living in maxi skirts this pregnancy. They are super comfortable and all of these have a shirred waistband. That means they fit nicely under my belly and can be worn throughout my pregnancy. Being able to stretch my wardrobe as much as I can really saves me. The material is also lightweight, so I should stay nice and cool when the July heat really hits me.
To go with these skirts I found a few shirts at Wal-Mart. I tried to find pictures online, but did not have luck finding an exact match. They look similar to the one below. I got them each for $6. I snagged them in a few different colors, so I could mix and match with all the skirts I bought.
I have a few layer tanks and shirts I will wear underneath. This will allow me to wear them a bit longer, as my belly grows.
The last place I ordered from was Downeast Basics. I love Downeast. I only shop their clearance and sale items. I also stick to just their layering tees. They are very versatile and are so dang comfy. I ordered a classic tee in rum stripe and two essential tees in orange and cordovan. These shirts are super long. I have these in a few solid colors as well. I am waiting for their black and white to go on sale because I am loving layering those under the shirts I bought from Wal-mart. Super cozy!
So there you have it. My short and sweet clothing haul for March. I'll be sure to share if I order anything fun in April. Let me know how you all are saving on clothes and what deals you've been finding :)
and a few shots of me at 20 weeks in my new clothes :)
XO Danielle

ReplyDeleteYou look lovely and healthy! May the next 20 weeks go easily for you.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about finding plus size maternity clothes. I had a baby last August and had some luck with the maternity dresses at Old Navy- they often run really big, so you might have some luck with them.
