Today was a great day for a parade. We woke up to the sun shining bright and a blue clear sky. I wasn't sure how the weather would be. Last night we had a wicked wind storm. Our power almost went out and it rained a bit. I went to bed thinking our morning plans for our city's St. Patrick's Day parade had been thwarted, but I was wrong.
When I announced early in the morning that our morning plans were still a go, there was jumping up and down by a particular red headed girl. She's been looking forward to this parade all month. She actually had the chance to walk in the parade with her dancing school, but decided that watching was going to be way more fun. I think it was the all about the bubblegum that the floats throw out to all the kids. She had big plans to catch a lot of candy. The boy was a bit nonchalant about the whole thing. I keep forgetting he's eleven and he's a bit too cool for some stuff now.
We spent a good hour there. We saw Darth Vader (which got my eleven year old interested), lots of different dogs, police cars, fire trucks, and some vikings. It was a good day spent together as a family. How are you guys spending your St. Patrick's Day?
XO Danielle
