On Sunday, I looked around at my family, as we walked into church, and I realized that we all had thrifted items on. I don't know why, but this made me so happy. I love seeing my family in their Sunday best. Keagan and Jason in their pants, shirt, and tie....well bow tie for the boy. Libby and I in our pretty dresses...hair all up and done. Sundays are crazy for us. We usually end up getting to church a smidgen late (I'm working on it), but we get there nonetheless.
I think it made me happy because I was reminded that you don't need to spend a fortune to look great for church on Sunday. By shopping smart and taking advantage of thrift stores, I have been able to clothe my family...all while on a budget.
For us, Sunday is the Lord's day. It is a day of rest from your weekly chores and a day to enjoy and love the Lord and all that he has given us.
I am thankful for these little reminders that the Lord sends my way. I am thankful for quick pictures in the entry way at church and for this sweet family God has blessed me with. We may be loud, crazy, silly, and everything else in between, but they are all mine...and I plan to keep them forever :)
XO Danielle
You all look great. You have beautiful children. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you friend!!
DeleteI went back and forth about telling you, but your sweet daughter looks a LOT like I did at her age. A LOT, with her red hair, fair skin, blue(?) eyes, freckles, face shape, etc. I (privately) emailed her pic to my cousin, and she was amazed by the resemblance. They say everybody has a twin, and now I've seen mine--a cute girl named Libby. Of course I'm like a hundred years older than her now! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I am so glad you did! It is so crazy when that happens. I've actually met a few people with similar stories. So neat! :)
DeleteAdorable kiddos and mama too. Your church clothes look very nice .. Kids do lovely photos.. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you friend! You too! :)
DeleteEveryone looks adorable! Our little town is getting a new Goodwill store and I'm just beside myself with un-containable joy! The closest store is 45 minutes away from us so I don't get to go as often as I's like, but as of this Thursday, it'll only be 10 minutes from our house! Be still my heart!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh that is exciting!! What a blessing!
