These pictures have very little to do with this post,
but I just can't resist that toothless smile and adorable freckles.
I hope she always knows how beautiful she is...inside and out.
Sometimes I just need five minutes. Five minutes to unwind after a hectically filled day. Just five minutes to sit and be....not having to
get someone a snack, not having to grab clothes from the line, not having to
clean up that nail polish Miss Priss spilled then tried to cover with
magazines. Sometimes I need just five minutes to pee without someone
banging on the door....they always seem to have something super
important to tell me at the exact moment I'm emptying my bladder.
Sometimes those five minutes are when I take a deep breath and look
around.....I look around and see that the clothes are semi folded...I'm
halfway done there....I look around and see that Miss Priss was just making
her nails the same shade of pink mine are and that we got the polish off the leather
bench eventually...I look around and see that Keagan had to tell me he was on chapter
28 of Ink Heart. He couldn't wait till I was out of the restroom....he was too excited.
Sometimes those five minutes, give me a moment to
breath and thank God for my day.... For my family, my children, and for
this life. Sometimes those five minutes are just what I need to get through my day.

DeleteLove this, Danielle.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila! :)
DeleteAww I agree! And Miss Priss is so beautiful, You are so lucky! It's the small moments that help you grow and appreciate more. Thank you for reminding me!
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet!
DeleteYes! I finally had to tell Megan that when the restroom door is closed she can't knock, open it or yell through the door unless it was an emergency. She stopped and I had peace for a few days then she worked her way around the new rules and now she slipped notes under the door! It makes me smile and I will someday miss the little notes and pictures that I find slipped under the door. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my heck Wendi. That is hilarious! What a smarty you have there;)
DeleteOh my Danielle....loved this post. My "five minutes" was coming here, hoping to find encouragement and you delivered :) love love love your blog. Love all your tips and tricks. Seriously your blog has improved my life and my skills as a homemaker. I needed a huge boot in the pants to get going and take control of the food situation and meal planning in my home and your blog has been instrumental over the last several months in helping me to accomplish those things. Thank you for your passion. Thank you for posting Miss Priss. The reminder I needed after my five minutes, to go hug my little ones and let them know I love them so much. And yes once today I was followed to the bathroom as well thankyouverymuch :)
ReplyDeleteColette, my comment mirrors yours! Only to add that since my youngest is 13, I usually get to potty in peace most days. The funny thing (sort of), is I open the bathroom door, and BOOM...there's my dog sitting there. It's so weird...because when I come out, he just goes about his day...he didn't really want or need anything, just waiting for me to come out. Hmmph! Haha!
ReplyDeleteWhat my DH an I used to laugh about was when we did go into the bathroom w/ door closed....wasto see those little fingers wiggling under the door. Enjoy.. they grow up way too fast. Now we are seeing grandkids fingers.
