As I look outside my window:::
The clothes are blowing on the line. I love being able to have windows opened and a breeze blowing in. I cherish this time in the desert. The cool temperatures only last for a short while here in Las Vegas...then they become sweltering. I am enjoying every single moment these windows can be opened, allowing a cool breeze to air out our house.
Right now I am:::
Listening to music via my Amazon Cloud and mentally prepping for my day. Mondays are busy for us, so a little prep works makes for a much smoother day.
Thinking and pondering:::
About how God blesses us. Hard times come to all of us. No one is spared. It is those trials that we go through that make us stronger. I have been thinking a lot on my trials and how I can turn them into a blessing. I wrote a bit about that here.
On my bedside table:::
A Noble Groom by Jody Hedlund. I have been reading through all of her books. I love her style of writing.
On my tv tonight:::
I'm watching everything on Hulu and Netflix. I have episodes of Nashville, Glee, Welcome to the Family, and Super Fun Night to Catch up on.
On the menu for this week:::
I'm trying to clean out our fridge, freezer, and pantry. My meals are coming from items that need to be used up this week.
On my to do list:::
clean bathrooms
homeschooling
finishing up some summer nightgowns for Miss Priss
I need to cut out a new pattern for the boys pj shorts too
Happening this week:::
Doctor appointments, ballet, and wrestling classes. The boy just got invited to join another wrestling class, so that means more nights at the gym for Mom and more fun for him. I love seeing my kids do something they love.
What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I have a bunch of summer clothing projects to work on. Lots of skirts to be made for the little miss and me....oh and summer pajama shorts for the boy.
My simple pleasure:::
Frosted Shredded Wheat. It is one of my favorite cereals and has become my favorite late night snack. I craved it when I was pregnant and the love has continued.
Lesson learned the past week:::
Things don't always turn out the way we would like, but God always has a plan for us. Sometimes it just takes a bit of time before we can see his plan.
Looking around the house:::
There's laundry to be folded and clothes to be donated (I just went through the kids clothes)....other than that we are pretty tidy this Monday...thankfully :)
From the camera:::
date night :)
What are you listening to:::Happy by Pharrell Williams -- my kids got me into this song and now I can't get enough. Makes you just want to get up and dance.
Prayer List:::
My friends and family, with whatever it is that they may be going through.
Bible verse, Devotional:::
"I will not forget thee" 1 Nephi 21:15
Even in our darkest hour, he has not forgotten us.
He is there to shoulder our burden.
Have a fantastic Monday folks!
XO Danielle

ReplyDeleteThank you so much Wendi! I love reading your blog!
DeleteHi Danielle - Happy Monday. You are so right about trials. We have had a real rough one for going on 8 years now with one of our kids....wow it has been and still is hard - but now I am finally starting to see ways that I have grown through this. I am a totally different (better) I think person than I was before the trial. I love your positive attitude and your reliance on the Savior to pull you through hard things. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteYou too Deb! I hope this week is a bit easier for you. You will be in my prayers.
DeleteIsn't the weather here gorgeous?! Over 80 today. Not looking forward to the sweltering heat though. Question ~ Do you use a particular pattern for skirts for yourself and your daughter? I would like to make several skirts for myself and my girls, but don't really know where to start. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi there! I do have a bunch of skirt tutorials in my archives, but I typically make maxi skirts either floor length or knee length. I have a tutorial for that below :) They are my favorite to make and so easy! Hope that helps.
