{Shirt: Shade Clothing - Maxi Dress: Yard Sale - Necklace: Sassy Steals - Flower: Made by me}
I have an obsession with Maxi dresses. I seriously can't get enough. I love anything in maxi form. Dresses, skirts, you name it. I mean what other item of clothing could you wear and feel like you are wearing PJ's? I support anything that makes me feel that comfortable. I was talking to my sisinlaw about this very fact, when she admitted to wearing nightgowns herself. First of all I was super surprised and a tad jealous. You can wear a nightgown and not be elderly? I had not gotten the memo. I have never invested in a nightgown, since I thought it would become instant birth control in my house, if you know what I mean. After talking to Holly though, I am seriously considering it. I mean Maxi's in the day, nightgowns in the night. I would be super comfy 24-7. Who could turn that down? err....Maybe the Hubbs, but my comfort is at stake folks! He would totally understand right? Please tell me I not the only young momma who secretly wants a nightgown :)
XO Danielle
Hahahaha......this made me lol !!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, get you a nightgown. They are much more feminine that pajama pants and tshirts. And no, you don't have to be elderly to wear a nightgown. Go shopping, you may be surprised how pretty gowns are now.
ReplyDeleteyour thrifted maxi dress is really pretty good on you-
Thanks friend:>
DeleteAlso, not getting graphic or anything like that but I think hubbies prefer anything feminine. Nightgowns are lots more attractive than yoga pants. ;) Good for you for being able to wear maxis! I tried one on and it made me look like a cow!
DeleteI have 3 nightgowns!!!!! I got them at Target and Lane bryant so they are actually really cute and not granny looking and lets just say, the hubby enjoys them :) You should buy one!!!! They are so comfy, like sleeping in a big t shirt!
ReplyDeleteI've thought about nightgowns myself. You could get the t-shirt gowns that's not so 'elderly' looking.
ReplyDeleteI have never worn anything but nightgowns!!! Are you kidding, there are some extremely sexy ones out there-just don't shop Walmart for them...LOL! I too love maxi anything, so comfy and you can look smashing in them too:-)
ReplyDeletehaha! ok I will check out some other stores:>
DeleteVery pretty! maxis are super in-style this year (and also were last year). They are so feminine and pretty. Very youngish too. (someone my age wouldn't look good in them, as I am 55). Fabric with a knit is always comfy. It is not so much the style, but a knit.
ReplyDeleteI never thought much about nightgowns being for older people...ha..something to ponder!
Hahaha I don't have a husband yet so I totally invested in a nightgown and I LOVE IT. It's so comfy, and I think I pull it off quite nicely, thank you very much. :D
ReplyDeleteI like fashion because it is so cool and growing
ReplyDeleteSunglasses Fashion
Pretty. Did you make it? I actually have one nightgown but wear it rarely. I think PJs are more comfortable for me :)
ReplyDeleteNope I got it at a yard sale
DeleteI found a super cute super soft jersey sundress at Kohl's on clearance last summer. It is my go to night gown. I look somewhat presentable if anyone should stop by but I still feel like I am wearing a night gown and the husband approves.

ReplyDeleteI actually like comfy teddy dresses. A night gown would be NOT allowed in this house, lol. But you can find some really comfy teddy's online that feel as comfy as a maxi dress, but still super cute for the hubby!
ReplyDeleteI love gowns! Just not the long granny ones. I prefer short and sleeveless. Turning 40 this year but have been wearing gowns for almost 20 years of marriage and have a 3 YO, so not a BC here, lol.
ReplyDeletealright good to know:> haha
DeleteYour blog inspires me...I made two of your twenty-minute skirts on Saturday while listening to conference (although they did take me more than 20 minutes). I used to wear long flannel nighties in the winter and short night shirts in the summer which were super comfy for me (and my sweet hubby had no problems with them) but I changed to jammy pants and t-shirts when my kids (especially my boys) got to be teens - just for the sake of modesty. (Hubby actually liked the nighties better).
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you made some of the skirts. That is awesome:> I am sure you are rockin them!
DeleteI am seriously so embarassed because this posted under my HUSBAND's name...we both had a chuckle about it last night, but it was a mistake. So sorry. My husband does not sew or wear nighties or (apparently) sign out of his gmail account. He did get me started on following your blog after reading about you on Yahoo news and sending me a link to your blog. He is Mr. Frugal - we both love saving money!
DeleteI love your blog and your ideas today about kitchen organization. I am seriously old enough to be your mom, I'm sure (my kids range in age from 31 to 16) but I sure learn a lot from you.
haha! That is so funny. I actually hadn't noticed it was a guys name. I just looked at the comment, read it, and responded. Too funny though:> Thanks so much for brining it to my attention. It seriously gave me a laugh over here:)
DeleteI never considered nightgowns to be for older people! I mean, we wear them as little girls, don't we? My 9-year old loves them, so when do they stop being acceptable and turn into old lady clothes lol? Def wear them. They're amazingly comfortable and honestly? They're far easier to, erm, deal with in the event of a non-birth control evening lol.
ReplyDeleteso true...so true:>

I love that one. I could definitely rock that:>
DeleteDid you make your necklace? If you've made jewelry (or repurposed older) could you maybe post about it?
ReplyDeleteNope I actually got it from a deal of the day site. SassySteals.com. I got it for under $10. Seriously amazing deal. I wish I made jewelry. I should probably try it out right:>
Deletethat IS an amazing deal! My 4 yr old is into making jewelry for her friends. So fun and cheap for that age. I've looked into materials to make some of my own but it's outrageous what you can pay! I'm sure if it was on my radar to check clearance or craft stores that offer the extra percentages off it wouldn't be so bad!
DeleteCant wear either. The dresses dont look good on me and nightgowns get all wrapped around me and I feel trapped
ReplyDeleteYou seriously have the cutest clothes!! So jealous. And yes to anything you can wear in public that is as comfy as jammies!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Lindsay. You are always so sweet:>
DeleteI'm amazed that you think night gowns are for old ladies. IF! we wore night clothes, my husband would definitely prefer gowns. He thinks pajamas are horribly unfeminine for married women.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy robes and loungers for relaxing around the house in the evening sometimes.
I wear pjs, but not night gowns because I thought the same thing! maybe we can start a trend and bring them back!! And I LOVE maxi dresses too, and boho type skirts. Im all about comfort :)
ReplyDeleteso cute! I love your outfit! i love maxi dresses too!
ReplyDeletewhile i absolutelly love the dress and cant wait to figure out how to make one myself!!! I am in love with the necklace! did you make that yourself or did you purchase it somewhere?
ReplyDeleteI got it from SassySteals.com. IT is a deal of the day site. I am thinking though I need to start making my own. Such a fun craft to learn:>
Deletethe reason i ask is i make all my own jewelry and i loved it so much i figured if you made it you could list your suplies. but i guess i can just figure it out myself! thanks anyways.

after posting my previous comment and reading your post again i had to make another comment. first off you are funny! birth control! that's great! as a mother of 5 kids maybe i should of invested in a night gown a long time ago! ah who am i kidding im a breeding machine and i love all 5 of my goobers and would never want it to be any different. although now since were done having children maybe a few night gowns would be alright! I dont own any currently but i do have a few xlarge long sleeve mens shirts that are like dresses on me! just wanted you to know that i love the post!!

Love the dress and the striped pattern :) The necklaceis also a nice detail, so pretty!!
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Tara's blog hop. If you have a sec, hope you can drop by my blog too and read my latest: www.fashchronicles.blogspot.com
Trust me I've been married over 20 years and I still consider myself young; but my husband was much more excited when I decided to wear gowns to bed. Get a fun lounger pattern and make a few of your own. You'll find him lingering on your side of the bed more often. ;)
