Hello again Blissful and Domestic readers! It's Lorie from Reading Confetti, where I blog about activities related to kid's books. We do lots of crafts and quite a few involve paper plates. In fact, last month I shared a morning chore chart made from a paper plate. Since Halloween is fast approaching, today I have 5 kid crafts for Halloween made from paper plates!
All of the projects start with a painted paper plate. You can use a paint brush, but sometimes we also like to use sponges.

This first craft is great for practicing fine motor skills. After the plate is painted, punch holes at the top and bottom and have your child thread string or twine through. Secure the ends with tape and add a stem and vine (mine are green raffia) to complete your pumpkin.
You can also make Halloween creatures like a spider, a monster, or a black cat. They're pretty self-explanatory but you can get the details (and see the books we paired them with) at Reading Confetti.
My personal favorite is a "light up" pumpkin. It's made from two paper plates stacked and when you turn the bottom plate, it looks like your jack-o'-lantern lights up. You can find the details here.
