Happy Monday lovelies! So I should be doing a Sunshine Monday post, but I am way to excited about a project I worked on over the weekend. You see Sunday, after church, I always try to get in some sewing. The littles have their computer/video game time and I get an hour of me time. I decided to work on some dresses for Miss Priss. She is in some need of cute summer dresses; thus, my need for the Summer Baby Doll Dress.
It is super simple to make and oh so cute!
Here is how you do it:>
Start with an adult size, long sleeves shirt, and a little shirt.
My little shirt is a 4t and my adult is an XL.
This is exactly how I make the Braided Fabric Headband.
Attach your braid to the dress and add a cute flower.
This one came out as a tunic dress.
It is a little to short for her to wear without capris,
but she loves it nonetheless.
And Here is another version I made.
This one is longer and actually took less time.
The black elastic was actually part of the original shirt.
All I did was add the extra ruffle on top, to hid some stains.
This one is extra long and perfect for church.
Perfect for summer:>
Don't forget to come back tomorrow for a yummy recipe.
I am sharing a BBQ Hamburger recipe.
It is THE BEST! For real! (as Miss Priss would say)
Oh and this week we will have Amanda from The Little Giggler.
She will be a guest on Thursday.
She is going to show us how to make a super cute party
dress for the little girl; in your life.
Should be awesome!

Oh and one more thing, did you notice I opened an Etsy store?
I am still working on filling the store, but there are a view
items for sale. Check it out :>
There is a link on the sidebar to the store.
Have a wonderful Monday and I will see you tomorrow.

Wow, these are so cute, and so is Miss Priss in her new dresses. I love the idea of using an adult sized t-shirt to make a little girl's dress.

Danielle, what an adorable dress, or should I say, a couple of dresses! The black one looks so elegant too!!! Thank you for sharing all the ways you recycle. Sometimes many oldies like me say the younger generation is wasteful, but when I see all you and Allison do to utilize instead of throw out...it is just awesome. Oh, and since you are such a good cook, I have a need maybe you have some insight to: we have a wood fired pizza oven hubby built for me...after pizzas, we usually prepare a few whole chickens to roast using the leftover oven heat. I often, though, lack many creative ways to utilize that roast chicken meat, other than to add bbq sauce for sandwiches and for enchiladas. If you have any more ideas...when you get a chance...I sure would love to hear them!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful dresses- and gorgeous photos too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to a Round Tuit!
Hope you have a great week!

What a great idea on how to use up old or stained shirts. I wish I knew how to sew and I would make a cute shirt like this for all of my nieces. Great idea! I love the cute little model in the pictures!
