Sunshine Monday: Mother's Day Edition

Yesterday was Mother's day. A wonderful day to remember those fantastic woman, in our lives, who have shaped us into the people we are today. I had the opportunity to spend my weekend with a bunch of fantastic ladies. Friday started out with a girls night. I got to go to the movies with my sister-in-laws and my mother-in-law. They are an amazing group of woman, who truly are some of my best friends. Being able to laugh with them and know that we truly are sisters, who are apart of an eternal family, is such a blessing. We have been friends since we all married our husbands. They are all brothers, but I know we would be friends even if circumstances had been different. I am thankful to all these Wagasky Girls

Sunday I was able to host Mother's Day dinner. My mom, dad, and grandma came over. We had such a fun time talking about when we were little and laughing. I have amazing woman in my life, who have helped make me the mother I am today.

Libby made cards and then had to explain them all. She wrote like a novel in each one, so literally she explained every letter she put on the page. So cute :>

I was showered with flowers and candy, what else could a girl want?

My Mothers Day weekend was wonderful, full of the people I love. I just have a few more thoughts, which have brought a little more Sunshine into my day.

I found this quote while searching on LDS.org

"Every girl and woman who makes and keeps sacred covenants can have a mother heart. There is no limit to what a woman with a mother heart can accomplish. Righteous women have changed the course of history and will continue to do so, and their influence will spread and grow exponentially throughout the eternities. How grateful I am to the Lord for trusting women with the divine mission of motherhood. Like Mother Eve I am “glad” (see Moses 5:11) to know these things."
-Julie B Beck

How amazing is that? To know that we can strive for a mother heart everyday. To know that when we have a mother heart, that we can literally change history? That just blows me away. I needed this today. Last night I was exhausted by bedtime. The thought of Monday was taxing on me. I thought of the cleaning, the cooking, and the lessons to be taught. I felt defeated before I even started. I said a simple prayer. A prayer telling my Heavenly Father, what I felt in my heart. Telling him that I didn't know if I could go through Monday with the patience and love that I want to. I know I have my days where I fall short and thank God for these little hearts who love me no matter what. Who each day brings a fresh start for them. After my prayer I was reminded of these thoughts.

When I got up this morning I felt refreshed. I took my shower and felt like I had enough strength to battle anything that came my way. I felt inspired during school lessons, and I know I will be able to get through the next few weeks, until we have a short break.

I am thankful to my Heavenly Father for allowing me to have had a beautiful mother, with a beautiful heart. She maybe crazy sometimes, but I know she does it out of love. She loves me and always encourages me to reach the for the stars.

I am thankful for a grandmother who lifts me up every time I see her. I am so thankful she is living in town now. I have grown closer to her in the past few months, than ever before.

I am thankful or a mother-in-law, who raised an amazing son. She made her little boy into a man. A man who always supports me and is truly my best friend.

I am thankful for sisters who are examples to me. We all struggle and it is nice to know that when we have those days, I have friends who are only a phone call away. They always uplift me when I am down and I hope I do the same for them.

And finally I am thankful for these little buggars.

It is because of them that I am a mother today. Through the pregnancy up and downs, and painful births, they have made every ounce of frustration or pain worth it. I think that is why woman are still giving birth. It is THE most painful thing we will ever experience, physically, but the most rewarding. Thank you my little red heads for everyday I have with you.

I just want to end with something that literally brought tears to my heart. Keagan filled out a "All About My Mom" worksheet at church yesterday. Here were his answers.

What is your Mom's name? Danielle
How old is she? 28 (actually I am 27, but he was close)
Mom likes to? Cook (He knows me so well)
My mom's eyes are? Blue
My mom's weights? (He crossed this one out. I love that little guy:>)
My mom's birthday is in? May
My Mom was born in? Las Vegas
My moms favorite food is? Salad
My Mom like to? Read (again he knows me so well)

This is my favorite question. When I read it in the car, on the way home from church, I almost cried :)

My Mom is best at being? Being my Mom

These moments make Motherhood so special. I pray you are enjoying your littles and the wonderful gift they are in your life :>

Happy Monday!
