recipe by Pam Anderson, via ThePioneerWoman.com, twicked by me :>
Serves up to 18
8 slices bacon, halved
1 medium onion, cut into small dice
1/2 medium green pepper, cut into small dice
3 large cans (28 ounces each) pork and beans
3/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup distilled or cider vinegar
2 teaspoons dry mustard or 2 tablespoons Dijon
The original recipe called for you to cook this on the stove and then bake in the oven. I am a pretty lazy Sunday cooker, so I threw all the ingredients in my slow cooker and sat back and relaxed, while my crock pot did all the work. I really should thank that thing more often. It works really hard, while I take all the credit :> Anyway, super yummy recipe you most definitely will want to try :>
