Countdown to Valentine's Day: Day 1

Last night we were heart attacked (by me of course). I cut out 14 hearts and placed them throughout our apartment. When Miss Priss and bubba got up this morning, their mission was to find all the hearts. The hearts were all numbered and had an activity written on the back. We put them in order and taped them to the front door. (To find out all we have planned for Valentine's Day click HERE).We then had a yummy breakfast of Valentine Muffins (basically blueberry muffins in a festive platter).

Later on in the day we did our first activity to count us down to Valentine's Day. We read a few V-Day books.

Then we made our Valentine cards. Well, really we just decorated envelopes and they assigned who would be getting each valentine. (thank you again Mom for the Valentine kits)

Today was a fun one. It was so fun to see their faces in the morning. Yesterday was a hard one. A day full of whining and shouting, but seeing their faces and the excitement they have when we talk about all the fun stuff we will do in the next two weeks, makes it all worth it:>

Hope you are having fun celebrating with your littles. I am off to bake some requested cookies for my littles. I just wanted to quickly share two side notes with you, the first is an amazing quote I found on  I am Momma- Hear me Roar!

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautiful tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my nails from helping weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheek and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Oh Sister Hinckley how you are always an inspiration. Thank you so much for your words and the example you set every day you were on this earth.

and the second side note:
Valentine's Day Countdown + two amazing red heads= so much fun!

Have a Blessed Day!
