This is a new recipe I tried last week. I thought this was delish! I can't wait to make it again. My hubby actually thought it wasn't seasoned enough. We will just have to agree to disagree. It was fabulous and the kids loved it. Libby even asked for thirds :>
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup all-purpose baking mix (bisquick)
1 tbl paprika
2 tsp creole seasoning
1 tsp seasoned salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
1/8 tsp black pepper
10 chicken drumsticks
1) Preheat the oven to 450. Pour the vegetable oil evenly over the bottom of 15x10x1in baking pan.
2) Combine the baking mix, and all seasonings in a large Ziplock bag and mix well.
3) Add the chicken drumsticks, a few at a time, to the bag and shake to coat. Arrange on prepareed baking pan
4) Bake chicken turning once, until juices run clear when pierced with tip of knife, about 30 minutes. Transfer to serving dish and serve immediately. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteI just noticed my older posts don't have a pin it button sorry about that. I will have to add that.
Deleteis the baking mix just pancake mix? I looked all over for "all purpose baking mix" and couldn't find it
ReplyDeleteyes it is the same thing. Sorry about that.
Deleteoh no worries :) Thanks!
DeleteJust made these tonight for supper and boy were they a hit. My son told me these were the best and he is a very picky eater. Thanks for the recipe. We will be eating these often I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad your family liked them:>
DeleteI couldn't make enough of my adaptation of these. I took ckicken breast and cut i into chunks, rolled them in your mix, then dipped in buttermilk, then rerolled in the season mix. Then cooked just like you do the drumsticks. My family loved them. We normally have leftovers for the hubs to take for lunch but there were none. Thank you for such a yummy recipe!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so good. I am going to try this out. soon:>
DeleteThese were awesome...Made them last night for dinner...Very juicy...Nothing left but the bones...
ReplyDeleteI have made these three times so far and my son tells me they are the best ever! He has requested them at least once a week. I was wondering do you ever cover them while they are cooking? Everytime I cook them my oven gets really smoky.
ReplyDeleteIf you're oven is getting smoky I would definitely cover them when cooking. I haven't had this problem but I know ovens can vary.
DeleteHi Danielle ,I came across your blog at the weekend and I have to say I am just a little bit addicted !!!!
ReplyDeleteTonight I made this recipe, but used chicken thighs rather than drumsticks, and I have to say that of all the variations I have made, this is the best one by far.
So thank you from the uk :)
