My name is Katrine (pronounced Katrina) and I come from Norway.
I live in Trondheim and I'm 18 years old.
I blog at The Gentle Flower about one of my greatest passions: making jewelry and other crafts.
I've been making things my whole life; whether it's been conjuring up stories, writing poems, making necklaces, crocheting softies or something else.
It's always been my passion to make things. And I find peace through doing so.
It gives me a sense of accomplishment and pride to make something from scratch.
I love flowers, so they're a recurring theme in my jewelry.
The nickname, "The Gentle Flower", was given to me by my music teacher when I was young. I was pretty shy and gentle, and she understood that, as she replied to my Mum after a phone call about me wanting to quit the orchestra, "I know and understand; Katrine is a gentle flower." She was one of my favorite teachers.
Approx. one and a half year ago I decided to start my blog. I wanted to share my passion for creating things.
Crafting and creating put a smile on my face, and hopefully my creations could make someone else happy too.
In January, 2011, I started my first online shop on Epla.no. This is the Norwegian equivalent of Etsy.
I blogged in English, so there was a demand for an Etsy store.
Some of my hopes and dreams for the future are to:
- Publish a book
- Become fluent in Spanish
- Sell my jewelry to a celebrity ;)
- Live in Los Angeles
- Crochet a life-sized house (haha) [read about that here]
