The Lacey Sunday Dress

Good Morning Everyone! As you can see I took my hubby's advice and revamped the old bloggy here. I love the vintage feel to it now and feel it is pretty darn feminine. Just how Blissful and Domestic should be. Although I was a tad hesitant to listen to hubby, I think he had it right. I am loving the new digs.
Oh and I did everything over at Shabbyblogs.com. They're awesome and free. The best!

Well anyway, I have to tell you I am so excited for today. I have been so looking forward to sharing this dress with you. I made this dress a few weeks ago, before we left the apartment. I really needed a new pretty Sunday dress, for church. I had no money to go shopping, but I did have a closet I could raid. I went into my closet and found this teal shirt and very long black skirt. I decided to put them on Dolores, as I loving call my dress form, and see what I could come up with. I decided to go with the ever popular high waisted look.

Once I had the skirt placed where I wanted,
I decided I needed to add a little bit of lace.

I pinned everything in place and got to sewing.

Once all three pieces were sewed together, I flipped up the skirt part and cut off the extra shirt material. Recognize this fabric at all? It is what I used to make the Braided Fabric Headbands I shared with you last week.

Once I had trimmed my excess material, my dress was finished.

Now I have a new Lacey Sunday dress. I have received so many compliments on this dress. It is seriously crazy how simple it was to make this.

Also funny side note story, at church last week Libby was wearing a dress I had re-purposed for her. It ended up she matched her teacher. Her teacher was wearing the same dress, pre re-purposing. Libby thought that was kind of fun and her teacher was amazed that I was able to cut it down to four year old size.
Very cool:>

Anyway I hope you all are having a fabulous week.

Don't forget to stop by again tomorrow. We have Jill from Creating my way to Success. She will be sharing a fun new tutorial with us.
It should be fun!
