Two weeks ago our theme for the week was Fall. We did a bunch of fun Fall activities I wanted to share with you.
Here is what we read:
My Favorite Time of Year by Susan Peterson
The Season's of Arnold's Apple Tree by Gail Gibbons
Why do Leaves Change Color? Marian Jacobs
Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Elhert
Leaf Man by Lois Elhert
Here is What We Did:
We wrote our names and "Fall" on sugar cookies. I got this idea from The Peterson Family Blog.
Miss Priss Practiced writing her F's and Bubba practiced writing his sentences from our hooked on phonics book for the week.
We were suppose to make an apple pie, but all I had was cherry pie filling. We made cherry pie and watched Tom & Huck, while enjoying our pie. Tom & Huck happens to be our chapter book we have been reading this month. (please excuse my pan in the picture below. I know it is very sad and desperately needs to be replaced :> )
We then made some leaf art from our nature walk we took. We don't have a huge selection of colorful leaves here in Las Vegas, so we imporvised with some store bought leaves from Michael's.
We then made this Pumpkin Play dough and brought it over to a friends house to share :>
We finished our week with a picnic to Floyd Lamp State. Here are some of the pictures from our park playdate with friends.
Note: Please do not think I favor Miss Priss with only posting pictures of her. It just happens that she loves to have her picture taken and my bubba does not. :>
Have a Blessed Day!
