Mozzarella Beef Burgers

The other night we tried a new recipe I just had to share. I found this recipe on Monica's blog, the homespun heart.  I wanted to try my hand at making my own hamburgers...crazy I've never done it. I always buy them pre-made and ready to just pop onto the foreman grill. Well these were real simple, I just haven't got the knack for making the hamburgers into a pretty shape yet, but I guess I will just have to keep trying. Anyways these turned out so yummy. I made these hamburger rolls and served them topped with onion rings, a bit more BBQ sauce, and corn on the cob. Very yummy! I hope you get the chance to try it out. Enjoy!

Mozzarella-Beef Burgers

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 c. fresh bread crumbs
1/4 c. BBQ sauce*

Mix all together and cook.

These go perfectly with my Homemade Hamburger Buns

*Homemade BBQ Sauce

This is a great substitute for store bought sauce.

1 onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1 can tomato sauce (8 oz.)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons molasses
1 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp chili powder
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1 tablespoon water

Sauté onion in butter until soft. Add remaining ingredients and stir to thoroughly combine. Let simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

And more importantly by doing so, I've gotten a new job at my church working just two days a week. I'm able to see my family more now! I truly appreciate your blog! It's literally made my life better!

  2. This would make an awesome meatloaf. To make it more fun try cooking it in a muffin tin.
