Gooseberry Patch Peach Crisp

I copied this recipe from a Gooseberry patch cookbook during the winter. I finally got around to trying it out, but unfortunately I can not remember the exact book I got it from. Sorry about that. All the Goosberry Pacth Recipes are so very yummy! Their cookbooks are my favorite. Enjoy the reciepe below and if I figure out which book it is from I will let ya know :>

1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 c flour
1/2 c butter chilled and sliced
1/4 c quick oats
8 fresh rip peaches peeled, pitted, and sliced
3 tbl lemon juice
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350'. In a small mixing bowl, combine brown sugar & flour. Add butter and mix with a pastry blender until crumbly; stir in oats. In a glass pie dish, toss peaches with lemon juice, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Sprinkle peaches liberally with topping and bake for about 25 minutes. Makes 4 servings.

Serve with warm fresh whipped cream or yummy vanilla ice cream:>

** Things I did differently were: I don't have a pastry blender,so I used a wooden spoon. I also just baked mine in a metal pie pan with high sides. We served it with vanilla ice cream. It was so yummy!
