So it seems like I am making a pretty good habit out of posting videos on Mondays and Thursdays. I am finding that joy in capturing again and I truly love sharing with all of you. Thanks for all of your encouragement. It is what keeps me going and keeps me creating.
Today we are talking about coconut oil on the channel. Recently a dear reader asked about different ways to use coconut oil. She had started purchasing it, but wasn't quite sure of all the fun ways to use it. I did my own little search and was able to come up with 10+ ways to use coconut oil around your house. Some are ways I have been using it for a while and some are new ways I want to try out. I honestly didn't realize there were so many uses for coconut oil. Talk about an item earning its place on your shelf :)
So check out the video and let me know what other ways you guys are using coconut oil. I know there are a ton more ideas out there :)

I use it as a carrier for my essential oils. If I am applying them topically. I also used it as an over night hair treatment. We used it with tea tree and lemon essential oils to kill lice. I made a hard scrub with it. Hmmm let's see so many things.

I mix it with brown sugar and use it as a scrub/shave cream. Just be careful, though, as it makes the tub slippery! I also like it in baked goods, but I am still struggling to use it in main dishes, as the sweetness is often quite noticeable. I've also used it as a diaper rash cream for my baby and for cradle cap. I live in a warm climate, so our coconut oil is always in liquid form. Thanks to your suggestion, I'm going to put some in a jar in the refrigerator and try it out as a spread. Thank you for the great ideas!
ReplyDeleteI've always had good skin, but as you pass 50... your skin changes. And well having fibromyalgia i have issues with itching and allergies. I used it the other night all over my hair /head and arms / legs pre-shower .. shower / rinse, and my hair felt so silky --as did my skin didn't itch. WE use it also to cook with -much healthier. I've heard of coconut oil pulling, tried it, didn't like it... but that's personal preference. :)
