Ponderizing the Scriptures...

Ponderizing the scriptures has been on my heart for quite some time now. As a family we've been working on memorizing scriptures, so that we have another way to seek comfort in times of need.

God's words are always good, so if we can remember His words more fully, we will be able to gain the strength we need daily.

In the past General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, ponderizing the scriptures was talked about. Devin G. Durrant said that ponderizing just one verse a week could change our hearts. When my kids heard this, they got excited because they knew we had already been doing this. It was something I added to our days a while back, after much prayer on the things my family should focus on. Hearing it again in General Conference was a reaffirmation that we were on the right path.

I love how God gives us these little graces...little gifts to let us know we're doing alright.
This week I'm working on Psalms 9:1 in my personal study time. I'm trying to keep it in my heart and on my mind.

I'm not perfect at this ponderizing thing, but I'm certainly trying. I'm thankful for God's grace... For his patience with me.

I'm thankful for the little inspiration I receive from the scriptures and other encouraging books. Enshrouding yourself in good words and thoughts really makes a difference.

XO Danielle

  1. I am trying to "ponderize" a scripture every week too and love doing it! My scripture this week is John 6:66-69 - really a timely one right now. Ponderizing is such a great way to get our children to love the scriptures. Great post!
