So here's what you'll need:
For Cake:
1 1/2 cups apple cider
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 T. butter softened
1 egg
1/2 cup of buttermilk
2 3/4 cups of all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
For topping:
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
3 T. butter melted
Instructions for cake:
- Preheat oven to 350*
- Warm apple cider on stove-top
- Cream together the 4 T. butter, sugar, and brown sugar
- Add egg and buttermilk to creamed mixture
- In a separate bowl combine the flour, soda, powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Add the flour and cider alternately to the creamed mixture
- Place batter in well greased bundt pan and bake for 35-40 minutes
- Cool in pan for 25 minutes then turn out onto serving plate and prepare cake topping.
To prepare topping:
Combine 2 tsp. of cinnamon and 1/2 cup of sugar. Melt 3 T. butter and brush onto top of cake using pastry brush. Once cake is well coated, sprinkle sugar/cinnamon mixture onto cake.
