Bootlegger Baked Beans

Hi guys! I am so excited to share one of my recent scores at the grocery store and a yummy recipe to go along with it. Recently I scored some Butterball Turkey Bacon for only 99 cents a piece. I ended up buying a whole box full of bacon. This box of bacon cost us under $20 and will last 6-8 months in the freezer. I love finding meat on sale and then stocking up my freezer.

When we buy ground meat and such, we love to buy Butterball turkey, since it is a leaner option. Since Butterball turkey products are so delicious and better for you.You can make better choices for your family, without having to give up the great taste you want or worrying that your family won’t like it. I like to stock up when I see ground turkey/turkey bacon go on sale. Buying your meat when it is at a rock bottom price and stocking up, enables you to not have to spend a fortune creating yummy, wholesome meals for your family.

One of my favorite recipes to make with turkey bacon is baked beans. This is a crowd pleaser and is so delicious. You probably already have all the ingredients in your pantry right now. I love recipes like that!

Here's what you will need:

2 tbl BBQ sauce
2 tbl Ketchup
1/2 onion, diced
2 tbl brown sugar
2 tbl vinegar
2 cans pork and beans (15 oz)
4 strips of bacon

Dice strips of bacon and fry in a sauce pan. When partially fried, add onions. Cook until slightly browned. Next add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes. Turn off heat and cover. Serve as a yummy side dish.

* I like to use the leftover turkey to make BLT's for the family. Yum! Yum!

This whole meal cost my family less than $5. Woot! Woot!
