Good Morning Lovelies! Today you are invited to spend a day in the life of her.
You know that gal who you might think has it all together. The mama who seems to do it all. Well guess what? She doesn't. Let's fight those lies. This new series is an effort to get rid of the "super mom" image that we all make for ourselves in our heads. It is a time to inspire one another even more. We do not have to always have it together to be good moms, wives, and women in sisterhood!
I have invited some wonderful women to share their story with us and to be real with y'all. They will share their struggles, their victories, their frustrations, their joys, and everything in between. It may not be glamorous, but it is real and real is absolutely beautiful
Come walk a bit in the shoes of another....

My little family consists of me, my husband Alex, my son Luke (3y/o), and my daughter Kaylee (9m/o). We live in a small coastal town in Washington and between my husband’s computer repair business, my craft business (Driftwood Beach Crafts), my part time job as a nutrition educator, being a secretary and volunteer for the local historical society, and a mom of two kids under four, my life is extremely busy.
Our store recently finished with an add on/remodel and everything keeps moving around. Due to this, I spent a lot of time walking in circles trying to find the few things I needed. I was grateful that when we got out the rain had let up long enough that I could load up the stuff and my little girl without either of us getting drenched.
Since there wasn’t a lot of time between when I got back and when we headed home, I didn’t start working on making up the needed candles for the market this next weekend. I did work on hole punching my pages for the curriculum a little, but that was about as far as I got. At five we packed up and all headed home to fix dinner. While home dropping off the groceries I had pulled a package of ground beef out of the freezer. My husband asked what I was going to do with it. Hmmmm….I’d had two hours to think about it and totally forgot. He said that loaded baked potato sounded good…so loaded baked potato it was. I cooked the ground beef, added in our own taco seasoning, shredded up some cheddar and pepper jack cheese and threw the potatoes into the microwave. By the time I got everything done and the kids sat down to eat, my husband had to make a business call. My daughter loved having her own mini baked potato with a little cheese. I think more of it ended up everywhere but her mouth though. Once my husband was done with the call, he joined us for dinner.

Sounds like a good day, minus the train. Yuck I hate trains.
ReplyDeleteIt actually wasn't bad. Waiting for a few cars to pass is better than sitting there for half an hour, boxed in with a child in tears yelling he had to go potty. We've been there too. :D
