{Bowdabra Project} Cute miss Priss outfit

This post originally appeared on Bowdabra.com in August.
Bowdabra is a great company I get to work with.
I design projects for them every month.
They are fantastically creative ladies and I am thankful
I get to work with them each month.

I wanted to share it here as well.
Here is an outfit I made for Miss priss.
Enjoy!

Hello bowdabra lovelies. I am excited to share my tutorial with you today. With school starting, I am feeling the pressure to get to making things. My children are in need of some new, cute clothes for school. With our wallets, not leaving a lot of room for shopping, I have been trying to make as much as I can. You can too and the bowdabra can help you. Here is what I did to make a cute new outfit for my Miss priss, using my bowdabra of course!

I started out with these supplies:

a basic tee (5t size)
black tulle
a cute iron on
(Purchased from Cuppycake Boutique)
bowdabra string
mini bowdabra
mini bowdabra hair ruler

I applied my iron on to my shirt and than let it cool for a few minutes. Once that was done my shirt looked like this:

It was cute, but it didn't have that WOW factor, which I so love! I busted out my mini bowdabra to help me, and the ruler to help me in measuring.

Photobucket

I cut out a few strips of black tulle. Each strip was about 4 inches long.
(you don't need to be exact, since you will be trimming the tulle at the end anyways)

Photobucket

I used one piece of tulle as my middle string on the bowdabra

Photobucket

Begin crisscrossing pieces of tulle with your bowdabra

Photobucket

I did this with about 4 strips of tulle. I then took my middle strip (shown in the picture below) and knotted it around all the other strips.

Then place it on your shirt and attach with your sewing machine.

Can you see my white thred? Don't worry we will fix that. Take two strips and knot them, so then the white thread is no longer visible.

Photobucket

Than trim your tulle to the desired length. I wanted mine short. It created a pompom effect.

Finish trimming and then your done. Now you have a fabulous shirt for your littles first day of school.
Now you can choose to be done or you can go a little further....

I thought I was done, but then I thought of how I wanted something cute for her hair.
I got out some pink ribbon and made a bow to match.

It was so simple and easy, plus doesn't it look adorable in my littles hair?
