Hey, all!  I am so delighted to be here on Blissful and Domestic. Thanks to Danielle for inviting me.   I'm Rachel Sue from Reduce, Reuse, Upcycle.  If you are ever wondering what to do with t-shirts, toilet paper rolls, or pallets, Reduce, Reuse, Upcycleis the place to go.  You would not believe how many things that you can do with toilet paper!  But today, I am going to share with you my very favorite fall recipe.

Caramel Apples

These are the best caramel apples I have ever eaten in my entire life.  They can't hold a candle to unwrapping 700 caramel candies and melting those.  These are beyond fabulous.

You will need:

*Popsicle sticks (our favorite place to get them: The Dollar Store.)  It doesn't matter if they are big or little. I went with the big ones, because it was what I had on hand.

 *About 12 medium size apples
*1/2 cup of butter
*2 cups packed brown sugar
* 1 cup light corn syrup
*Dash of Salt
*1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
*1 tsp. vanilla extract

You need to bring the apples to room temperature so that as much caramel as possible sticks to the surface. And you know you want as much caramel as possible on those apples.  Shove the popsicle sticks into the top of each of the apples.

Over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt.  Stirring constantly bring it to a boil.  Stir in the sweetened condensed milk.  Let it cook until a candy thermometer reads 248 degrees (or firm ball stage).  Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.

Dip each apple in caramel.  Turn SLOWLY to coat the apple. If you turn it too fast you will get bubbles.

Then hold the apple upside down for a few moments while the caramel cools a bit.

And when all the apples have been dipped, I give you permission to lick the pan. And the spoon.

And that's it!  Honestly, I think it takes the same amount of time to peel a bajillion caramels as it does to put this together.  And honestly, you will never go back.
