Yesterday was the start of our 12 Days of Christmas for Miss M, a little girl in my children's Primary at church. I took the kids and we went to pick out a tree at Target. My original plan was to purchase a big artificial tree, but when I got there and saw all the prices, I knew it was not in our budget this year. We ended up finding some really pretty metallic trees that were around 3 ft tall. They were also only $8, which was absolutely in our budget. The kids picked out the metallic green one and pink glittering snowflakes to go with it. M loved the tree. I told her it was a perfect princess tree just for her to decorate. It was so neat to see her running around and giving myself and my friend Allison hugs. That sweet moment reminded me just how important the next two weeks will mean to this wonderful little girl. I am so thankful to be able to bring a little Christmas magic into her world.
For tonight I will not be able to deliver the treat to M, so Allison will be doing the delivering tonight. Our plan for today was stockings and a treat. I made stockings over the weekend and Allison will be filling them with a little treat of some sort. I forgot to take a picture of them before I gave them to Allison, but here is a picture of the stockings I made for my family this year. They are all similar to the ones I made for M and her Mom.
These were super simple to make . I just drew a picture of a stocking on white paper. That became my pattern. I cut out the stockings 4 times. This gave me fabric for the outside and the lining for the stockings. I then added my trims first and then sewed them together pillow case style. These were so simple and have become a great gift to give to family, since they are so simple to make. Anyway just wanted to share my quick how to.
Well that is all I have to share for today about our 12 days of Christmas. I hope you are all having a wonderful day and oh my goodness only 11 more days till Christmas. Man I need to get back to sewing, but I guess I must clean and do school first Have a wonderful day with your littles and don't forget to share the magic of Christmas and Christ's birth with them today
Have a Blessed Day!
That sounds like a very neat thing that you are doing! And your stockings are very nice!
