I have been thinking lately about how no one seems to letter write anymore. It is so much easier to type a fast e-mail or send a quick e-card for the holidays. I remember how when I was growing up I would write my grandma every month. I always looked forward to receiving a reply in the mail. She was my pen pal and I know that through our letter writing, we strengthened our relationship. I also
remember when I was a little girl I had a pen pal, that I signed up for at school. I always enjoyed learning the lettering process, talking to someone that didn't live in my hometown. The letters were usually short, depending on what level of writing I was at at that specific time. Sometimes we shared stickers or coloring pages, but even if it was just a simple letter, I always enjoyed reading the sweet words my pen pal had sent. I mean what child doesn't love getting something in the mail? Well I know that bubba is only 6 and Miss Priss is only 3 1/2, but I think it would be a fun thing to start with them now. I think it would be a fun way for them to practice letters and sentence writing. I am wondering if their are any other moms out in the blog world that feel the same way. If so send me an e-mail and maybe we could start some pen palling with our children. I don't think that penpalling means you have to live far away from each other. I think it is just getting back to writing simple letters, when lately all we see are e-mails. Let me know what you all think.
Have a Blessed Day!
YES! We are in and I feel the same wya you do about letter writing. I talked to the boys about having Bubba as a pen pal and they are really excited about it. I will email you later. We had a late start today. Thanks so much for starting this up. I have one that needs some hand writing help and I think this will be fun for him.
