Last Minute Thanksgiving Day Crafts

I know that Thanksgiving is only a matter of days away, but somehow I finally have some creative juices flowing and wanted to share some of the craft ideas I will be doing with my littles over the next week to celebrate Thanksgiving. We have been reading these books:

On The Mayflower by Kate Waters

10 Fat Turkeys by Tony Johnson

Thanks for Thanksgiving by Julie Markers

All these books were on my November Reading List

We have also been reading about the first Americans and pilgrims from What Your Preschooler Needs to Know: Get Ready for Kindergarten (Core Knowledge Series)

Yesterday we did a Mayflower project that I wanted to share. It was very cool for the kids to do. We talked about the Atlantic ocean and how it must have been to ride in a ship for such a long time. Here is our craft and I have included some other fun crafts below that we plan to do. Hope you having fun celebrating this Thanksgiving season with your littles. Enjoy!

 Here's what we did:

We painted a single cup from an egg carton brown.
I took 1 Popsicle stick and broke it in half (half for each project)
We then cut out a square of white paper and placed a red cross on it.
The kids glued (with a glue stick) their sails onto their sticks.
I used hot glue to attach the sail to our boat.
I then used hot glue again, to attach the boat to the plate.
We labeled our ocean and colored the plate blue.

We also have been using Fall cookie cutters with play dough

I also found this blog today with some pretty cute crafts to do with your littles for Thanksgiving.

I also plan to make this yummy snack with my kids today.

And just because I love these two pictures I wanted to share who is our biggest distraction, while doing school :>
Such a  fun daddy. He lets them climb all over him. And Miss Priss loves pretending he is a car or horse to ride :>

Have a Blessed Day!
