Well now that I knew what I was going to do It needed to decide what Holiday theme I was going with for this sign. Being that there are only 2 more weeks till Halloween I decided to do a Christmas sign.
I traced the outline of the sign onto scrapbook paper and cut it out. This paper I already had on hand, which was awesome!
I busted out my Modge Podge and glued my scrapbook paper onto the wooden sign.
Next I cut out a white circle of paper. I had this metal welcome sign leftover in my craft stuff. I know I got it at DI last year, but I never knew what to do with it. Finally it has a purpose:>
I added two drops of hot glue, on each side of the metal welcome sign, to hold it in place.
I glued my knots onto each side of the sign
Add some green ribbon to the back for hanging (I hot glued mine in place)
and minus the bats I am feeling the Christmas spirit already!
This project didn't cost me a penny. Everything I used I already had in my craft closet.
Boy do I love re-purposing!!
Please check out Abbi over at Proverbs 31 living. She has a great segment on creating a Handmade Christmas, which she is starting this week. My goal for this holiday season is to try to have it handmade as much as possible. I will try to share my gift ideas as I make them, just in case anyone else is trying to do the same thing:> Happy Crafting!
