I was talking to my friend Delvonna the other day and she showed me how she has been helping her younger preschool aged child learn her numbers and counting. She took a spinner from a game and then a bag of pom poms. She said she got the pompoms at the dollar store. The object of the game is of course simple. You spin the spinner and then whatever number it lands on that is how many pompoms the child counts out. Well I decided to use goldfish with the same idea. I drew a big circle on a peice of paper. Libby would flick the spinner and then what ever number it landed on she would put the correct amount of fish in the circle. Once she counted them out correctly she could eat them. This was a great activity for her to do while I worked with Keagan on addition. We just started this week and it is going well. He is loving learning and adding, which of course makes me happy as a clam :> Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday!
