Sorry I have been MIA for a while. I thought I was getting pretty good at posting, but yet again life happens and my time on the computer becomes a thing of the past. Anyways I have a few moments now and I wanted to share a new yummy recipe I have tried so far this week. I am currently doing a recipe swap with my bestie Holly. Ever once in a while I borrow one of her cookbooks try a few recipes and then copy the ones my family loves. I am currently borrowing The Essential Mormon Cookbook: Green Jell-O, Funeral Potatoes, and Other Secret Combinations. This cookbooks has some of the most yummiest recipes in it. They are all categorized by season and then it will list a main course, side dishes, and a dessert. It makes Sunday dinners a breeze to plan. Well today I decided to try out a cookie recipe that is called "Best-Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies", see I didn't give them that label the book did, although the name does suit them :>
1 cup butter or maragine, softened
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups of flour
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 (12 ounce) bag of chocolate chips
Cream together butter, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. In a seperate bowl sift together flour, salt, and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture and beat well. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop onto greased cookie sheet by heaping table spoons. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 mninutes or untill lightly browned. Makes about 3 dozen.
** Here is what I changed: I used semi-sweet chocolate chunks (12 ounce bag). and I used an ice cream scooper to spoon my batter onto the cookie sheets. It does make much bigger cookies. They cooked for a total time of 14 minutes. **
I hope you guys are able to do some baking today. Don't forget to ask the littles to help. Miss Priss was my assisant today and Bubba did his usual job of being our offcicial taste tester.
Happy Tuesday Everyone!
