Randi From Dukes and Duchesses

Hello lovelies! Can you believe only 8 more days left of our countdown. I hope you all having been enjoying this month long party. I know I have been! Today I have another guest, sharing an awesome project.

Today we have Randi, from Dukes and Duchesses. She is no stranger to being a guest over here at Blissful and Domestic. I was very excited when she agreed to visit us again. She is sharing an awesome Halloween project today. So let's get our craft on with Randi from Dukes and Duchesses.

Blog Meet Randi
-----------------------
I'm Randi from a crafty little blog called Dukes and Duchesses and I'm so glad to be at Blissful and Domestic again, sharing in all the Halloween fun!

October means pumpkin patch time at my house and I love to have something fun for my little guys to wear.  I'm going to share a simple tutorial for a candy corn t-shirt.

You'll need a plain t-shirt {Wal-Mart always has cheap shirts}, then hit your stash pile or the fabric store and choose white, yellow, and orange fabric in different prints and textures.  I wanted to be sure that the fabrics showed up well on a white shirt and thought texture in my white fabric would be a good way to accomplish that.

Cut strips of fabric in two or three-inch widths and then sew them together into one long strip.

Next, cut a candy corn-shaped template from paper and use that as your pattern piece.

Once cut out, sew the little applique onto your shirts.  I love raggy, shabby edges so I left my edges raw.  They'll fray a bit when washed but only up to your stitching line.  If you want to minimize fraying, you could always use Wonder Under or a similar product.

And there you go ... sweet little shirts just waiting for pumpkin patch photos.  You can see this year's pumpkin patch outfit here.  I hope you'll stop by Dukes and Duchesses to say hi!

Thanks for having me, Danielle!
