The Creative Paige

I hope you guys are ready for our fabulous guest today. Today we have Paige, from The Creative Paige. I first met Paige, when I featured one of her projects. I pretty much feel in love with her blog afterwards. She is super cute and one crafty lady to boot. She is sharing an awesome Halloween craft with us today. I'm Paige from The Creative Paige and I'm so excited to be here sharing in all of this Halloween fun on Blissful and Domestic!

I love Halloween...and not just because it's my birthday...although that does make it even better.

I had lots of people growing up ask if I wished my birthday weren't on such a "dark" holiday, but I can honestly say, I never felt that way. I loved my birthday...I had costume parties, special events at school and I always felt like there was something exciting going on.

I don't think Halloween has to be "dark"...I think it can be fun if you make it that way! I'm here to share a fun monster project inspired by cute monsters like the ones on the movie Monsters, Inc.

Ok, so I made this for Halloween, but silly monster faces are great any time of year!

I printed out lots of different silly eyes, noses, mouths, ears and hair on photo paper so that they would be a little sturdier.

 

 

Then I did my own ghetto version of laminating. I took this clear sticky plastic (you use it to cover school books) and sandwiched my pieces between two layers, then cut them out. It stuck really well and worked similar to laminating. (Not absolutely necessary, but I thought it would help them last longer in the hands of my destructive 2 year old.)

I glued magnets to the back of each piece and bought a round metal pan to stick them on. You could use a cookie sheet, pie pan or just the refrigerator if you want.

Let your kiddo use their imagination to create tons of faces! This could be hung on the wall, taken in the car or played with on their lap. It's great and super portable - just throw the pieces in a ziplock and take them along.

You can print out the face pieces I used. It's six 8.5 x 11 pages.
