Little Girls Repurposed Sweater Skirt

Do you have sweaters that are just hanging out in your closet. Sad from little wear? Well I did. I don't know what it is, but I am just not really a sweater person. Give me a good cardigan and I am happy, but sweaters are just a little too much bulk for me. Finally realizing this, I decided to clean out my closet and put those sweaters to better use. My niece's birthday was coming up and I now had a perfect project for a gift for her. I followed the tutorial found  here on Make it and Love it. I just didn't make the leggings to match. I wanted to keep it simple.

I made two cute sweater skirts for her. One sweater had a pocket pouch in the front. This added some extra cuteness to the striped skirt. The gray one I added some white flowers to the front. These were a simple (I say that all the time I know, but it is the only way to go) project to do. I still a few more sweaters left to make some more cute skirts for my Miss Priss. She was sad these skirts were for Makenze and not her. I had to reassure her I would make her some as well:>

The total cost for the skirts was $0. I had all the materials on hand. I put these into a purse (I found at DI) and added a few headbands and a Tangled book. The total cost of her present was around $6.50. Perfect for my Little niece Makenze. Hope you are enjoying wearing these adorable skirts little miss :>

Have a Blessed Day!
