Thrifty Gift Giving: Tile Coasters

Here is how I made simple Tiled Coaster to give this Christmas:

I started out with 20 tiles. These were free. They were leftover from when my parents had new tiles put into their home.

I then cleaned each tile.

I cut all my vinyl out and placed it on the tiles. I wanted to make sure all the words and images would fit. I got my vinyl from my sisterinlaw at Hearts to Hearts creations.

I rubbed on my vinyl and viola I had home-made coasters to give as gifts this Christmas.

I wrapped them with a pretty bow.

Here are the phrases I choose to use:

I did Live, Laugh, Love plus 3 blank tiles
I did a set of P's
and Yee-Haw, Howdy, and horses.

I made it so each set had 6 coasters.

These were such a simple gift to make. I hot glued felt onto the bottom, so the coaster wouldn't slip on the table.

Have a Blessed Day!

  4. How did you keep the vinyl from getting ruined from a wet glass? Did you put some type of sch lac over it?

    Thank you!
